Oral Presentations, Workshops and Posters

ACTA Members:

Oral presentations are usually 15 minutes or as appropriate for the program.

Poster presentations will be accepted at this years conference.

Audiovisual Equipment

Each lecture room will be equipped for the presentation of PowerPoint slides and include a data projector, laptop, lectern and microphone. Multimedia clips should be embedded in your slides. Other audio-visual aids, such as overhead projectors, are not available.

All presentations must be digital in either PowerPoint or Keynote. Speakers will be required to bring their presentations on a USB stick with them to the conference. Presentations must be given at least three (3) hours prior to the start of the session in which you are presenting. It is not good practice changing computer connections at the lectern so presenting on your own laptop is not permitted.

All abstracts are to be submitted via email to events@clinicaltrialsalliance.org.au. Do NOT include symbols, tables, pictures or diagrams within the ‘content’ of your abstract to avoid formatting errors.

Selection and Notification

The ACTA International Clinical Trials Symposium Convener serves as the head of the Steering Committee and will make the final decision on which abstracts are accepted.

Abstracts will be reviewed against the following criteria:

  • Completed rather than future work (i.e. final results)

  • Original data of high quality

  • An analysis that extends existing knowledge

  • Diversity and consumer involvement

  • Clarity of methodology, analysis and presentation of results

  • Specific rather than general findings

Results of the abstract review will be sent to the contact author by 6 September 2023. Presenting authors will be notified after the closing date regarding the status of their abstract. All presenters will be required to register for the conference and pay the appropriate registration fees should they be selected. All presenters also need to meet their own travel and accommodation costs.
