Kaye Hewson, Director Australian Teletrial Program, Office of Precision Medicine and Research

Kaye Hewson is the Director Australian Teletrials Program, a $75 million-dollar MRFF infrastructure grant for building capacity and capability in clinical trials in regional rural and remote (RRR) Australia.

Kaye is a registered nurse who has been fortunate in shifting her career to policy and program roles with a focus on innovation, change and translation of clinical research both within the Department of Health and in Hospital HSs. Kaye has a Masters in Public Health majoring in Health Management and Policy and a Certificate Health Informatician of Australasia. More recently Kaye was tasked in setting up a Genomic Institute in Metro North HHS. Kaye has also worked nationally in leading the administration of HealthPACT program horizon scanning for new technologies and as the Queensland representative for the nationally funded program advocating for and evaluating specialist services across Australia.

Kaye is passionate about improving patient outcomes and their lived experience when accessing health care. Her other passion is supporting and building a sustainable workforce incorporating research into care in R, R, Rs. She welcomes the opportunity to lead the Australian Teletrial Program working in partnership with Victoria, Tasmania, South Australia, Queensland, Northern Territory Department of Health and Western Australia Country Health Service.
