
Lillian Leigh
Lillian Leigh GAICD, LLM, LLB, BSc(Psych)(Hons)
Ms Lillian Leigh is a lawyer with extensive experience serving a broad range of socially and economically disadvantaged people within regional and metropolitan NSW. She has represented consumer voices at government and not-for-profit forums for over 15 years, including in the health sector since 2015. Lillian is currently a member of the Australian Health Ethics Committee of the National Health and Medical Research Council (NHMRC); the boards of the Thoracic Oncology Group of Australasia and Cancer Institute NSW; the Advisory Council of Cancer Australia; the Consumer and Community Advisory Group of the NHMRC, and the Executive Committee of Cancer Voices NSW.
Over the past 8 years, she has sat on advisory boards of various national and international not-for-profit organisations including the Australian Clinical Trials Alliance, The ROS1ders, and Rare Cancers Australia. Lillian has been a Mentor for the International Association for the Study of Lung Cancer's (IASLC) Supportive Training for Advocates in Research and Science (STARS) program since 2018, and in 2016 she was a recipient of the patient advocates award at the IASLC World Conference for Lung Cancer in Vienna. As a patient research advocate, Lillian was on the faculty of the Medical Oncology Group of Australia's ACORD Workshop in 2020 and 2021, providing a consumer's perspective in clinical trial protocol development.
