Prof. Andrew Forbes

Andrew Forbes is Professor of Biostatistics and Head of the Division of Quantitative Research Methodology in the School of Public Health and Preventive Medicine at Monash University.
His recent research interests include statistical methodology for the design and analysis of randomised trials, with a particular focus on the different variants of cluster randomised trials.
He heads the Biostatistics Collaboration of Australia, a consortium of 5 universities together delivering postgraduate degrees in biostatistics, and co-leads the Australian Clinical Trials Alliance Statistics Interest Group (ACTA-STInG), a national network of statisticians working in clinical trials.  In 2020 he was elected as Fellow of the Australian Academy of Health and Medical Sciences for his contributions to the discipline of biostatistics and its applications in clinical and public health research.
